  12. I saw an external V.34 28.8 FaxModem for the Mac at Creative Computers for
  13. $129.99.  The sales rep claims it's the exact same modem as The
  14. SupraExpress 28.8, but just by a different manufacturer with a different
  15. label, and hence the low price.

  17. However, upon getting permission from the sales rep to open the packaging
  18. for inspection, I noticed that it has NO labeling whatsoever that would
  19. tell me who the manufacturer is.  There isn't even a product registration
  20. card!  I checked the manuals, same thing.  No manufacturer name, no
  21. telephone number, no address, no nothing!

  23. So now, I am deciding between the SupraExpress 28.8 or this no-name (literally)
  24. modem.  While the Supra sports a 5-year warranty, the no-name one has only
  25. a  one-year warranty, according to the sales rep.  However, I did not find
  26. this stated anywhere in the documentation.

  28. Does anyone have any experience with this no-name modem or the
  29. SupraExpress?  Any insights would be much appreciated.
